A lot of times, when families come into therapy they have been feeling stressed out for a while. A child might be acting up, a teenager might be acting out, or people just generally aren't getting along well and can't figure out how to make it work. Sometimes adult families struggle with issues such as long simmering tensions, grief and loss or difficult decisions. We know how hard that is for you. When you walk through our doors, rest assured that we are on your side––all of you.
When you get here, your therapist will ask about your family and the things that are concerning you right now. Together, you all will make goals together for how your family would like to be and how therapy can help. You will explore ways that your family is already working well together and your therapist will help you build on that, too.
